Students taking this course should be familiar with personal computers and the use of a keyboard and a mouse. This course assumes that students have completed one of the following courses or have equivalent experience:
- VBUS 574 Computer Basics: Hardware and Software
- VBUS 576 Computer Basics: Systems and Networking Essentials
This course provides instruction in systems and networking essentials for taking the A+ certification test. CompTIA A+ certification validates foundation-level knowledge and skills necessary for a career in PC support. Training includes review and practice of upgrading, troubleshooting, and repair of computers; setting up home and small office networks; installation and familiarization of various Operating Systems; Applications, and Utilities.
